Psalm 139 And Charles Darwin

Darwin did not believe in the Creator God! He did a lot of work in trying to disprove Creation by God and even authored books. One of his books, which is popular even today, is titled “On the Origin of Species”. He put forth his famous theory that the world and life are the results of evolution.

However, not a single proof of any one species evolving into another different one has ever been found!

Charles Darwin described the eye as one of the greatest challenges to his theory. How could he explain it? The eye, after all, is simply incompatible with evolution. “To suppose”, he admitted, “that the eye with all its inimitable contrivances . . . could have been formed by natural selection, seems, I freely confess, absurd in the highest degree.”

Taken from the book “The Origin of Species”.

This shows the manifestation of irreducible complexity – which implies that the eye cannot be made smaller in any way and still function as it normally can!

If we read and study Psalm 139, it is clear that God created everything, including human beings. All of us have been wonderfully made! All things everywhere, and for all time from the beginning, are the handiwork of God who is the Creator.

Psalm 139 is a profound piece of scripture attributed to King David. It emphasizes God’s omnipotence, omniscience, and omnipresence, highlighting that God knows every detail about us, from our thoughts to our actions (and everything in between).

The masterfully sagacious advice to recite Psalm 139 daily, similar to Pythagoras’ practice with his “Golden Precepts”, underscores its significance in our spiritual life. Regular recitation can serve as a reminder of God’s constant power, knowledge, and presence, encouraging self-reflection and spiritual growth.
